Read a story with a detailed illustration on the cover such as Louella Mae, She's Run Away. Ask the children to predict what the story will be about, using the pictures on the cover as their justification. Say, “Why do you think that?” The child should answer using the word “because.” Create a chart with two columns – one for each person's prediction (“I think”) and one for the justification “because....”  This could be done in large group.
