As the children come inside from the playground, introduce new words to describe different ways of walking. One day you might demonstrate how to “amble” along, encouraging the children to copy you. Say, “Everyone is ambling along. We're walking slowly and looking around. I see Marion ambling and Tony ambling. We're all just ambling along.” Other ways to walk include saunter, trudge, plod, tramp or stride.
