Measuring Containers

You will need measuring cups, containers, and water. Use measuring cups to fill containers. Ask the children to make comparisons on which containers hold more. Encourage them to explore how many small containers of water fit in a large container of water. To extend this activity, ask the children to estimate how many cups the container will hold and chart their estimates.
