Wind Pipe Instrument

Give each child ten straws. Lay tape on the table sticky side up and encourage the children to place straws next to each other evenly. Pull tape around all straws securely but allowing straws to lay flat on table. Help the children cut straws at a diagonal to create a wind pipe instrument. Use additional tape as needed. The children will be able to hear their breath change as they blow through it. Play some music and have the children practice playing their instruments. This activity could be done in small group.
