After reciting “The Itsy Bitsy Spider,” add this variation, using big motions. Use your whole hand for the spider, not just your fingertips. Encourage the children to use a “big” voice (loud and deep).


The great big spider went up the water spout,

Down came the rain and washed the spider out.

Out came the sun and dried up all the rain,

And the great big spider went up the spout again.
