Display several different rhythm instruments with a variety of sounds, such as sticks, drum, triangle, maracas or a tambourine. Identify each instrument. Hide the instruments behind a screen and ask one child to go behind the screen and play the instrument of his/her choice. The other children can try to identify the instrument being played. You may want to display a chart with pictures or drawings of the instruments. This could be done in large group.
