During outside play, make a “road” using chalk or tape on the sidewalk. Have the children use cars and trucks on the road. Encourage them to make predictions about the speed and motion of the cars. You could ask, “Which one do you think will go faster/slower?” You could also provide “road signs” and ask the children to explain what the signs mean.
