How Many Words?

During small group, provide children with counters and verbally give them a sentence.  Have the children repeat the sentence, then repeat it slowly, breaking apart each word in the sentence.  Ask the children to repat the sentence again, this time collecting a counter to represent every word in the sentence.  Review how many words were in the sentence.
