Have the children help you pour colored water into a variety of containers such as orange juice cans, yogurt containers and empty milk cartons. Talk about what will happen once placed in the freezer. After they are frozen, place them in the sensory table for exploration. Talk with the children about why the ice blocks are different shapes. Ask, "Can you guess what we put the water in to make this block?"
