The children should first be introduced to the animal: kangaroo. Explore unique things about the animal, especially its ability to jump a great distance. In an open space, show the children the distance a kangaroo can actually jump by measuring from the starting line. Then, let each child take a turn jumping as far as they can, and see which one jumps closest to the kangaroo's distance.This activity could be done in small group.
