INDICATOR(S)CLL9.4c

AGE GROUP(S)48-60 months
Begin the day by writing a simple message on chart paper or on a sentence strip such as “Today is Groundhog Day. Do you think he will see his shadow?” It is important for the children to see you model writing. You can talk about how you are making the letters. Read the message to the children and call out special attention to the letters: “I see five Ds.” Ask the children what they notice. You may hear, “that is the same letter as my name.” This could be done in large group.
