Provide paper pictures of animals and encourage children to choose the pet they want to take care of. Talk about the basic needs of animals. Have the children look through old magazines and newspapers to find pictures of what they believe their pet needs to live. Encourage children to cut out their pictures and create a collage. This can be done in small group.
