Provide paper plates with a different facial expression drawn on each, such as happy, sad, excited or angry. Read The Way I Feel by Janan Cain. Show the children each plate and ask what feeling the plate shows. Follow by asking what makes them feel that way, such as “What makes you happy? What makes you sad?"
