Create a "Social Story" book to read with the children to teach them the concept of personal space. For example, "Personal space is like an invisible bubble. If I am inside someone else's bubble when I am talking to him/her, it may make him/her uncomfortable. I can give my friends and family space by staying two steps away when I talk to them. Sometimes I go into my family member's personal space to give a hug. That's okay because he/she is my family. People need personal space in their homes, at the grocery store and even on the playground. Giving people their own personal space makes everybody happy."
