Create a class animal clinic. Provide band-aids, a play veterinarian kit and soft toy animals. Ask a local vet hospital for props that the children can use such as signs, magazines and old X-rays. Ask the children questions such as, "I see that the dog has a fever. What do you think that means?" Books to read include Sally Goes to the Vet by Stephen Huneck and The Pet Vet by Marcia Leonard.
