Read The Most Magnificent Thing by Ashley Spires. Discuss different characteristics of people and compare them to pets. For example, the little girl in the story gets really angry. Do pets get angry? If so, how do you know? Invite families to visit the class to share stories of things that pets do that children or people may do as well.This could be done in large group.
