Read I'm A Pill Bug by Yukihisa Tokuda. During outdoor time, have the children look for pill bugs (roly pollies) under rocks or next to the foundation of the school. Provide moist soil, leaves and rocks to create a temporary habitat for the pill bugs in a fish bowl. Encourage the children to observe and draw pictures of the bugs crawling about, turning over the soil and eating the leaves.
