At the beginning of the year, model appropriate safety rules for the playground during outdoor time. Demonstrate where it is appropriate to run and walk. Model going down the slide feet first. Have children demonstrate their understanding of the rules and explain why these rules are important. Ask questions such as, “What would happen if we don't go down the slide feet first?”
