This is a traditional game played in Great Britain. During outdoor time, have the children sit or stand on one side facing the teacher, four feet away. The teacher can play the crocodile or have a child do it. The children call out, “Please may I cross your river?” The crocodile replies,“Only if you are wearing blue.” Other attributes can be substituted. You can use clothing color, hair color or eye color.
