Place chairs in a circle and put a deck of picture cards beneath just one chair. Have each child stand in front of a chair. Sing, “Rhyme around the rosie, pocket full of posies, ashes, ashes, we all sit down.” The child who sits on the chair over the picture card deck takes the first card from the deck, names the picture and says a word that rhymes with it. Repeat until each child has had at least one turn.
