You will need a timer and a plastic bag for every child. Set the timer for 30 seconds. Have the children find as many rocks as they can in 30 seconds. Once the timer has stopped, ask the children to freeze. Have the children bring the rocks they collected, count them and make comparisons. Say, “I want all of the children with the same amount of rocks to get together.” Then ask questions such as, “Who has the most rocks?”
