Set up a sensory table in the classroom with various materials to dig, scoop and pour, as well as various containers, some with large openings and some with small openings. While the children are engaged, be sure to prompt thought processes by asking questions such as: “How many scoops do you think it will take to fill the small bucket? Which bucket is bigger? What can we use to fill a bucket the fastest? Which container do you think will pour faster? Which container holds more? Which container holds less?”
