Read a variety of shape books to the children such as Round is a Mooncake: A Book of Shapes by Roseanne Thong, When a Line Bends...A Shape Begins by Rhonda Gowler Greene, Mouse Shapes by Ellen Stoll Walsh, Shape by Shape by Suse MacDonald or Dr. Seuss's The Shape of Me and Other Stuff. Discuss what shapes make up each item mentioned in the stories. This could be done in large group.
