Read My Shell Book by Ellen Kirk. Provide a variety of sea shells, and have the children use magnifying glasses to examine the shells. Count how many different colors they see on a sea shell. Provide play dough and encourage the children to make shell prints. Talk about where sea shells come from and the different textures. Ask questions such as, "Why do you think sea shells come in different shapes and sizes?"
