Read Maisy Goes Shopping by Lucy Cousins or A Trip to the Grocery Store by Josie Keogh. Discuss the purpose of a grocery list. Show the children note pads designed for list making. Explain that they are long and narrow because you write only one or two words on each line. Compose a grocery list for ingredients to make a special snack.This could be done in large group.
