Sing familiar songs to the infant while rocking. Add his/her name and familiar words to the song whenever possible: “Rock-a-bye, Victoria, in the treetop...” or, “Jackson had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb...” or, “Are you sleeping, are you sleeping, little friend, little friend?”
