Assemble contact paper, 81/2" x 11" cardboard, tape and an assortment of real and found items such as fabric squares, yarn and small animal pictures. Tape contact paper to the cardboard, sticky side out. Remove the backing. Encourage each child to make a collage using the real and found materials provided. Before the child places items on the contact paper, have him/her guess why the items will stick to the paper. Encourage the child to feel the sticky side of the contact paper.
