Story Bag

Create a cloth bag with bright colors or a fun pattern.  Add small items to the bag such as small cars, keys, a doll, a spoon, a piece of ribbon, etc.  During large group bring out the story bag and tell the children that you are going to create a story together using the items in the bag.  Start the story by pulling an item from the bag and make up the first line using that object.  Then, pass the bag to the next child and have the child pull an item from the bag and continue to add to the story using that item.  Continue going around the group until everyone has had a turn.
