After reading Grandfather Tang's Story by Ann Tompert in large group, encourage the children to use tangram pieces to duplicate the animals according to the pictures in the book. Enlarge the diagrams and cut the pieces from black construction paper so the children can glue them on paper. This activity could be done in small group.
