Play the This/That game. Give children two choices and have them move to one side of the room or the other to indicate their preference. For example, have two pictures of snack choices such as round crackers and square crackers. Hold one up in your right hand, arm extended to the side and the other in your left hand. Ask, “Do you choose square crackers or round crackers, this (wiggle one picture) or that?” (wiggle the other picture). Children move to one side or the other to indicate their choice. Do this often with other choices.
