Provide an opportunity for the children to respond to a previously read book by drawing or writing. Possible prompts to focus their responses include, “Draw how the story made you feel,” “Retell the main events from the story,” or “What might the main character do in the next story?” Encourage the children to talk about their work with their neighbor or to the group.  This activity could be done in small group.
