Read The Great Trash Bash by Loreen Leedy. Have the children come up with a class trash committee for the classroom and school. Show the chlidren pictures of environments that have trash such as the sides of roads, streets, alleys, ponds and creeks. Invite the community Waste Management Team to come and talk to the children about how they dispose of trash. This could be done in large group.
