Collect an assortment of large, circular lids for the infant to play with. They should be smooth, washable and large enough that they are not a choking hazard. Encourage the infant to explore the lids. Stack them, hold them, bang them together or mouth them. Talk with the infant as he/she explores. Say, “You have some circles, Amy. They are smooth and round.”
