Read Did A Dinosaur Drink This Water? by Robert E. Wells. Show pictures of different water habitats. Discuss the term pollution, and how it can affect how people use water. Ask questions such as, “What can we do to keep our water clean?” Write down theresponses. Next, play a game of “Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down.” Show large pictures of clean water habitats and polluted water habitats. Have the children give a thumbs up if they recognize a clean water habitat and a thumbs down if they recognize one that is polluted.  This could be done in large group.
