Collect as many coins as you can and store them in a large container. Decorate four small, plastic bins with coins using hot glue. For example, glue pennies on the outside of one plastic bin, glue nickels on another. Place them in the math center and encourage the children to sort the coins into the four bins. As an extension activity, help the children create a chart by counting the number of pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters each bin contains.
